Munich, Germany, June 6, 2019: Nagarro, a partner in the Nokia-led consortium for ‘Factory in a Box 2.0’, is demonstrating the next generation augmented reality solution for connected workers at the “transport logistic 2019” fair in Munich June 4-7, 2019.
About ‘Factory in a Box 2.0’
Nokia conceptualized 'Factory in a Box’ in 2017 and showcased the next generation of the solution at Hannover Messe 2019, including new technologies such as 3D printing, robotics, and augmented reality. The underlying communication infrastructure leverages Nokia’s private LTE 4G network capabilities.
“Nokia’s Conscious Factory and Factory in a Box solution prove that Industry 4.0 benefits can be used to enable remote small factories, which can easily be moved to meet manufacturing needs. This has been developed with a series of partners working collaboratively over the past couple of years to achieve this success,” said Grant Marshall, Vice President, Supply Network and Engineering at Nokia.
Enabling workers inside “Factory in a Box 2.0” with next generation AR
Nagarro’s AR solution enables workers inside ‘Factory in a Box 2.0’ to produce defect-free parts and use advanced manufacturing machines seamlessly. The next generation AR solution on display at this event integrates context-specific guidance and real-time information from machines such as a 3D printer and robots working inside the factory. This solution, built using Smart Glass technology, will enhance worker productivity and advance data-driven decision making.
“Nagarro has forward invested in creating partnerships and high-quality solutions for the smart factory and connected worker,” said Sandeep Anand, Vice President at Nagarro. “Through this, we are helping various customers achieve their business goals aimed at improving productivity and reducing errors.”
The AR solution provides capabilities such as step-by-step instructions, hands-free navigation, presenting information from connected machines in real time and remote connect with experts to resolve queries. The augmented reality application – built using Skylight, Upskill’s multi-experience AR software platform – is being demonstrated on two Smart Glass, RealWear HMT-1 and Vuzix M300, at the event.
