October 20, 2022: Nagarro, a global leader in digital engineering, has won this year's German "Finalist" award at the 28th "Großer Preis des Mittelstandes" (Grand Prix of Medium-Sized Enterprises) of the Oskar Patzelt Foundation. The non-profit foundation is dedicated to honoring the outstanding achievements of medium-sized companies throughout Germany and awards the coveted business prize every year. Of a total of 4,546 nominated companies, 35 received an award this year, and more than 400 entrepreneurs attended the awards gala on September 24th, 2022, in Düsseldorf.
The award-winning companies all have in common their outstanding commitment to society as a guarantor of stability and trust. In the competition "Großer Preis des Mittelstandes," the companies are not only evaluated according to individual business criteria but in their entirety as a company and in their role in society. The award criteria were based on, for example, sustainability, innovative strength, social commitment, and value orientation.
Nominated for the award for the first time in 2022 by the Economic Development Department of the City of Pirmasens, Nagarro supports medium-sized and large companies in using digital technologies to make business processes more effective, realize innovative products and services and establish business models for the future, both locally and worldwide. Nagarro has over 10 locations and 750 employees in Germany. Nagarro is no stranger to Pirmasens in particular, thanks to numerous digitalization initiatives.
"As a digitizer of companies and schools, Nagarro has made a valuable contribution to the digitization of our region in recent years and is a co-host of “Digital Day Pirmasens," where decision-makers from politics, business, and society will once again discuss the opportunities and risks of digitization in the coming year," says Mark Schlick from the Pirmasens Economic Development Agency.
"Nagarro in Pirmasens is a great example of the digital transformation and attractiveness of our city as a business location. The opening of the Nagarro site, as well as continuous growth with the creation of around 80 new jobs, make our region attractive," adds Markus Zwick, Lord Mayor of Pirmasens.
"We are proud and particularly pleased about this award, as it assesses our commitment as a company holistically. Our aspiration at Nagarro is, of course, to support our customers in equipping themselves technologically for the future to remain competitive. But we also have society as a whole in mind and support numerous social projects, such as digitizing schools or fundraising for refugees. The appreciation for this commitment through the Grand Prix of Medium-sized Businesses 2022 shows us that we are doing the right thing and encourages us to continue working, in the same way, every day," says Michael Schmidt, Managing Director of Nagarro in Germany.
