The context: why RPA?

Invoice processing begins with the receipt of an invoice and ends with the recording and completion of the payment. Invoices are in multiple formats, such as a paper receipt, PDF, image, and email, and they are scanned to generate a PDF format from the source system.

These PDFs are emailed to the finance executives who create invoices with the correct customer, cost center, and project information. The entire data entry process is tedious, error-prone, and time-consuming.

The complexity of the data entry process further increases with the volume of invoices. Organizations can simplify this process with automation using Uipath. It automates the entire process, from extracting the invoice PDF to creating it in the Oracle ERP system.

Our team used their RPA bot development expertise to develop an accelerator that helps manufacturing organizations scale and optimize their production processes.

The Solution

Our solution comes powered by RPA, which extracts the invoice attachment from the email, obtains all the required fields for the invoice creation from the attachment, and stores the information in an excel format without any human involvement. Once the information is collected and stored, the UI path logs into the ERP application and creates the invoices. After all the invoices are created successfully, the bot logs out and close the application.
