For safety compliance, every worker must wear proper safety equipment and the number of workers allowed in the designated zones at a time must be regulated. The challenge was to establish a workplace safety protocol and ensure that these practices are being adhered to when the workers are carrying out their day-to-day activities in the manufacturing unit.

Nagarro built an edge AI-based video analytics solution with live-camera feed of the designated area used by the edge device. With ML models deployed, it evaluates the safety conditions basis the input feed and the result is fed back to the robotic system. The assembly robot starts, pauses, and resumes operations basis a real-time evaluation of the feed, e.g., more than allowed workers in the designated area or workers without proper safety gear. The safety compliance dashboard is also updated in real time.

The solution leaves zero room for errors as it ensures worker safety in the designated area of the manufacturing unit without requiring any manual intervention. Moreover, the intelligent solution is customized to include more safety related use cases for the future.
