Spanish labor law consultancy DMS Legal Intelligence saw an opportunity to revolutionize their industry. In collaboration with Nagarro's local AI cell, an internal prototype was developed. Within three months, the application's potential became undeniable, transforming from an internal tool into a ground-breaking B2C solution poised to impact the entire legal market.

The IALaboral.com application combines years of experience of experts in the Spanish labor market with top-notch technology.It provides curated information and targeted answers that specialists can use to prepare their cases.

As explained in the Economist & Jurist” magazine article, when asking whether an employee can be dismissed for theft, it is possible to obtain a specific judgment as a reference, information on video surveillance, and questions on contradictory files on the subject.

The information architecture is fully adapted for use by Spanish professionals and includes sections on labor procedures, inspections, sanctions, disciplinary dismissals, measures for objective reasons, and measures to protect workers' rights, among others.

The data analytics available also allow the IALaboral team to continuously improve the content, as it knows the area's most frequently consulted by users. The company's 30 years of experience is available in the application to advise professionals' consultation. They also offer training sessions to deepen the multiple benefits of AI as a work assistant. They remind users that the application is only a tool that does not substitute a good professional who monitors the results.

Solution

The Nagarro team relied on the basic LLM models of OpenAI, AWS ECS clusters with spot instances, Langchain, PGVector, the Python programming language, the Django framework, and other tech stack elements and put together the first MVP in June 2023. Our Spanish-based AI Cell in Nagarro is an interdisciplinary team composed by Kayla Chapin, PhD in Linguistics, as Product Owner. Victor Arantave, AWS Architect, Dorothy Casugo, UX Designer, Fernando Torrado and Nadal Llabres as Data Engineers, Raul Muñoz, Backend Python developer; Juan Carlos Gonzalez-Avella PhD in Physics leading AI research and Marisa Huaynalaya as AI Strategy Director. The close collaboration and trust relationship built with the client allowed the delivery to be agile and continuous improvements to be achieved. As Huaynalaya explains: “Companies who invest in experimentation and facilitate their teams to get familiar with AI not just in tech but also in their business areas will lead the way.”

Such a specialized tool of this type was not on the market. We, thanks to Nagarro, have improved ChatGPT-4o, and it has become a tool for law firms, mutual societies, corporate lawyers or other legal operators.

Results

IALaboral has been supporting the employees of DMS Legal since June 2023. 

The company was convinced of the effectiveness of the tool for its daily work and has adapted it for public use and shared it with test users since the end of 2023. 

IALaboral officially launched its B2C version on 27 May 2024 and received early bird subscribers only through word of mouth and referrals as a marketing strategy. 

DMS Legal has decided to establish a spin-off company to develop the product as a separate business unit.
