The existing car evaluation process was based on heuristics, resulting in high variability in assessment and suboptimal accuracy. Erroneous estimations led to dissatisfied customers and lost new sales opportunities. The evaluation included 10+ external defects such as dents, scratches, or rust with varying severities that needed to be assessed for 100+ different vehicle models. The heterogeneity in the dealership infrastructure and ambient conditions further added to the complexity.

Nagarro engineered a tablet-based solution with built-in positioning guidance to automatically capture standard images of car components. These images are processed in real-time to identify the type, location, and severity of the external body defects, including those that are not visible to the naked eye. Based on the assessment, the solution also recommends reconditioning jobs to the evaluator.
