Boosting test efficiency with Sqeed

Implementing Sqeed, a centralized test management tool, that resulted in up to 70% improvement in the efficiency of test result analysis

ÖBB’s test automation solution for the Ticketshop was detailed and diverse. Around ten teams tested shop components on a regular basis and analyzed the results of these tests. A common view across all teams regarding each component’s stability was essential before releasing a new version of the Ticketshop.

Although test results were discussed and the feasibility of each new release was decided during integration meetings, there were some limitations in terms of team-wide transparency. Test automation engineers and test managers had to access multiple sources to get the full picture. This led to inefficiencies and a lack of accuracy.

Nagarro partnered with ÖBB to implement Sqeed, a centralized test management tool to store test results. All test results are now aggregated and presented in one dashboard. Tests are linked to a central bug-tracking tool on an execution basis that allows easier tracking of errors for testers.

Additionally, trends and historical development of test results are easily accessible, which provides cross-team transparency and a common understanding. This has greatly increased the efficiency of the team and the test automation quality.

outcome

The use of Sqeed resulted in up to 70% improvement in the efficiency of test result analysis (compared to traditional methods). This increase in speed was measured by comparing the time taken to analyze test results on two different days, one day without Sqeed and one day with Sqeed, by the same test engineer.

The results clearly demonstrated the effectiveness of Sqeed in streamlining and optimizing the analysis process, enabling users to quickly identify and resolve errors.

From the point of view of test and release management, Sqeed enables us to retrieve the current quality status of our software on a daily basis and, with the help of the visualization provided, to quickly assess whether the software package can be made available to the customer.
